Our objective is to gather and safeguard objects linked to the history of surfing and beach culture, and present this collection for the betterment of the community. We aim to collaborate with established museums, exchanging thoughts and exhibits when suitable, to offer fresh and captivating displays for the communities to gain knowledge from. As part of our efforts to promote surf safety and rescue, we will be organising training courses on effectively rescuing individuals in distress at sea. To foster the understanding of surf heritage and the significance of surf safety, we intend to partner with schools and educate students. Furthermore, we will preserve traditional techniques of constructing ancient surf crafts by providing practical training to students.

The Port Macquarie Surfing History Association Inc. prides itself on being a valuable registered not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to preserving the rich surf heritage and beach culture of the New South Wales and Australian coastline. Led by President Alan Jeffrey and Vice President Glenn Dick, the association operates under the trading name "Port Macquarie Surfing Museum," a name that has become synonymous with the preservation of surfing history. Together, the dedicated committee, honorary members, and community consultants from diverse backgrounds collaborate to ensure that the museum achieves its vision of becoming the premier surf museum in the state and the whole of Australia.

The Port Macquarie Surfing Museum collects historical artifacts for display in a gallery. It has a research room for documenting and preserving the collection, focused on surf history. Admission fees and memberships support the museum. They also sell memorabilia to raise funds and engage with the community. The museum promotes surf safety and offers surf "crafting" classes. It collaborates with the Birpai Local Aboriginal Land Council and supports community initiatives. The museum project benefits Port Macquarie's coastal landscape and tourism industry. It aims to secure a permanent location at Town/Oxley Beach. In the meantime, it operates pop-up shops in Port Macquarie and during local events.
